Digital History Projects Posted on January 29th, 2010 by

As the final component of the January Interim Experience course “History Bytes: History in the Digital Age,” students were asked to work in groups to research a topic and produce a digital project. The three groups all selected aspects of Gustavus history and spent the month researching in the college archives, interviewing people, and deciding how to use technology to present their findings. The projects included a history of the buildings and campus planning at Gustavus, a comparison of the Gustavus centennial class of 1962 and the sesquicentennial class of 2012, and a look at the 1998 tornado.

Follow the link to see the final projects. It was a wonderful learning experience for all, and they produced astounding works.

It should also be noted that very few of the students had any experience with creating webpages or video editing prior to these projects.
