Dr. Marinari is the most recent addition to the Gustavus History Department. Originally from Italy, she has a Ph.D in Twentieth-Century U.S. and Modern European history from the University of Kansas. Her colleagues already feel her presence as a major contribution. Her enthusiasm towards solving historical puzzles and interpretations make her an excellent professor and scholar.
In the near future, Dr. Marinari will teach a course on the US during WWII and American history since 1865. In the coming semesters, she will offer courses on various topics, including American Immigration; US in the World; Race, Ethnicity and American citizenship; and refugees in American history.
Dr. Marinari is an excellent hire to the Gustavus History Department. “I consider myself fortunate to be part of such an active and committed department and to be at a school that is so passionate about preparing students to succeed and make a difference in their community.” Any student regardless of age or level of historical knowledge can immediately feel the passion that she brings to the table as well. Look for Dr. Marinari’s courses when it comes time for spring registration and see why she is clearly a part of what makes Gustavus great!
